My 40 year old bucket list

Hi all. Just thought I would share some random thoughts. First off, I am pushing 40. Translation: I am fighting it every step of the way. I will be turning 39 this year, and so not looking forward to it. I vividly remember my parents turning forty (my mom had me when she was 22) and I remember thinking God are they old. Now as I turn the corner, pushing 40 I don't want to be thought of as old. So I thought I would document my 40 year old bucket list. Something to strive for, something to keep me young, at least at heart, and to ease the transition into 40. This is becoming not just a 40 year old bucket list, but my lifetime bucket list. (translation-provides me more time to accomplish my goals without the added pressure of setting a definitive deadline. Not to mention I turn 40 in 1 year.)
1. Learn sign language
2. Run in a half marathon (in Chicago baby)
3. Finish my masters in nursing
4. Reorganize and accessorise one room in my house completely. Not half way. Done.. No more..
5. Learn to salsa dance, tango, etc.
6. Discover what makes me truely happy
7. Run in the subway challenge series
8. Become a wine connoisseur
9. Travel to Italy and France
10. See the natural landmarks of the world (grand canyon, Niagra Falls)
11. Get caught up in my family photos/scrapbooks
12. Become more DIY confident and accomplish more projects
13.Allow myslef to make mistakes and be ok with it
14. Learn not to take things personnally
15. Create cards more regularly
16. To be continued

Hey its a start. Hope you all enjoy the end of summer. School will be starting in less than 2 weeks. Yikes. I am so not ready. I love my job, but I am enjoying my time off way too much. I think it was because I took 4 masters classes this summer and just finished them the August 8th. I start my next 2 classes Aug 23. I think I am a gluten for punishment. Oh well.. When life stops you die.. So heres to pressing on, living life to the fullest, finding PEACE along the way and savoring each moment. God Bless..
Peace out.

Happy Graduation to Leah

Greetings everyone who bothers to read this. I just thought I would post something fun. I was able to create a graduation card for my cousin Leah

who has graduated from high school and we are having her party this weekend. Since no one reads my blog there is no worries about her seeing it. I love the colors, especially since she graduated from Central. Colors are green and white. Threw in some brown because I liked it. In my opinion I think it turned out great. I love making cards, and I think I will start down this road to bring some PEACE into my life. It is very calming to tap into my left brain (I think that is the creative part) instead of always going by the book. You all know I am a rule follower, and my life is pretty black/white. I am shooting more for the gray in life (not the drab gray you are all thinking) but the gray that allows me to live on the edge, a blending of sorts from the rules to thinking outside the box. Life is all about taking the "time to laugh, celebrate and to be happy" as my card sentiment shows. I have been living my life for others, checking off my to do list, and being regimented in all things. There is a lot to say for routines, but not when they drag you down, cause you sorrow or to lose the fun your life. Enough of that. May all who read this be blessed and find peace in your life.

PEACE OUT, until the next time (who knows when that will be)
